I recently came across an article discussing various additives that are a
waste of money and can actually -DECREASE- engine longevity (Slick 50 was
specifically mentioned). The article went on to explain how the FTC had
forced most of these snake oil people to add "No real proof this stuff
works" labeling, which caused many of them to disappear from the market.
Unfortunately, I do not remember where the I read this.
