Hey All,
I spent a bit of time at the races with two Roadster races . First of all we
finally were able to get road racing to come back to our local course. My
plans for the day were to volunteer to help at the
work stations , little did I know you can't wear shorts :) While I was
wandering the pits I notice
Jeff Remferts EIP Roadster , but they hadn't arrived yet from the hotel. I
figure I will cruise back over to the work area , and then I notice Guy
Selle's car . I ended up hanging out with those guys
for the next two days , and sure learned alot about how the races were run.
Jeff Qualified first in his run group both days . The group had 57 cars on
Sunday and was pretty fun
to watch all the passing. Jeff won both days races and was in the lead of
the whole race on Monday when he started to have mechanical issues.
Guy finished second in both his races , not bad considering he blew his head
gasket. On Monday they were giving double points and Guy said before he went
out on the track that all he wanted to do was finish. He ended up in the hot
pits for the last few laps of the race , but his car was still under its own
power and he was able to get the double points for second.
