Ibm not a lawyer, but have run the scenario by someone that has some
knowledge. We "those that invest in making the gears" would be venture
capitalists. We would need to open a group escrow account that will hold the
money to pay for the manufacturing. Lets say that we have to manufacture 1000
of each gear, and at that amount the price is 100.00 per gear. This pricing is
all speculative of course. Thatbs a total of 4000 gears at 100.00 per gear,
equals 400,000.00. If we got 200 U20 owners to invest 2000.00 each that would
be 400,000.00. This also means each investor would receive 5 sets each. Their
could also be some that invest more and would receive the appropriate
percentage of sets. Of course this does not include tensioners and chains. I
personally would be happy with 2 sets, but what do I, and the other 199 U20
owners do with the extra 3 to 4 sets each. We would sell them to other U20ers
or to venders as needed. I think you can imagine how complicated and messy
that could get. To make this close to reasonable, we would need 400 investors
at 1000.00 a piece. Thatbs what they are going for now anyway. Ibm hoping
this is worst-case scenario and we would be able to find a manufacturer that
would produce less than 1000 units. Other scenarios include working with an
auto parts supplier, say Napa just as an example, which would buy the extra
stock and resell them over the years at whatever price they decide. Or maybe a
manufacturer will to do the same. Again I have no legal experience, and am
sure their is much more to this. Obviously first things first. We have to find
a manufacture that will give us a real price of what this will cost and go from
there. To all of you doing that research, I thank you. Youbre doing a great
job exploring many possibilities. I know I will be acquiring other roadsters in
the future. Ibm having such a good time restoring the one I have now. It would
be nice to know that such a key part is obtainable.
