I would recommend using safety chains from the trailer to the truck.

Subject: O/T Roadster Towing Question

Hello,

I am getting ready for my season opener at Sears Point Raceway coming up on
the 23-23-24 of March.

Every time I load my Raodster on the trailer I am concerned with the method I
am using. Basically I just attach the trailer to my Pathfinder and drive my
Roadster up on the ramps and then secure the 2000 on the trailer.

What concerns me is that there really isnt anything holding the trailer to
the truck other then the hitch assembly. I know that the hitch can handle
the stresses of downforce but what about the streeses of loading? If I look
under the receiver I can see the assembly which is basically a peice of heavy
metal that is threaded and locks up against the ball when secured.

Is this really enough for loading a car? I sometimes fear that the trailer
will lift off of the hitch and the rear end of the trailer with my car on it
will crash to the ground.

Otherwise... if anyone is interested in coming to Sears Point to watch the
CSRG Vintage Races this coming spring let me know. I will be there on Sat
and Sunday. I can always use a few pit folks. ;>)

Ciao!
