Hi Ross!

Nice to have another Aussie show up!
Are you a member of the club up Brisbane way? The guys there are really
nice, really friendly, and really helpful.

What colour smoke does it blow, when it does? One of the problems with "new
rings" sometimes is that if factory rings are put in a 30 yo engine, they
don't necessarily still fit, with engine wear making the bore a tiny bit
over. When you say it "jumps around" when idling, what rpm is it idling at?
Is it getting smooth fuel delivery at low rpm? Or is it missing from time
to time. Check the timing and all the electrics.

If none of this helps, you can call the Australian roadster guru, Lou
Mondello. He's in Melbourne, on 03 9555 9591. I don't have the details of
the Brisbane DSOA, but they have a great site on the internet - just do a
google search for Datsun Sports Australia, and you should soon find them!

Hope you get it running fine. And welcome to the list.
(I'll be heading your way for the 2002 Nationals, too, so maybe we'll meet
sometime! Whereabouts in Brissy are you? I used to live in New Farm.)

Cheers,
Steve
