I figured I'd throw another log into the fire as well.

I've had starter experience with the late and early starters. Early
starters are very simple...be prepared, knowing that whatever wishful
thinking you may have, If you just decide to take the intake manifold
and exhaust manifold off, it will be a breeze.
Having done this a few times on a 66, I can get a new starter in and
back up running in about an hour. Besides, when you have everything off
it is a great opportunity to clean and take care of the left side of
the bay.

A late model I have found is a complete breeze! even with the triangle.
20 minutes tops! I've found this to be true for both long and short
starters. (as long as there is no header) A bit of wiggleing and out it
is!

Flat dash gauges are simple. Late model.......well, PIA says it best.
