CRUSTY RATCHETıS ROADSTER RESTORATIONS
LOW TECH TIP OF THE WEEK

You say the big fire hall dance is coming up this weekend, and your hands
are greasier than a fry cook at McDonalds, black rings around the
fingernails thicker than Tammiıs mascara, scaly skin rough enough for an
alligator bag, and your significant other wants you to put gloves on before
coming to bed, is that whatıs troubling you friend?

Then try Crustyıs trusty treatment: Before starting the next grimy job in
your Roadster restoration, soak a cake of hand soap (Ivory is best) in a
little water, long enough for one side to soften into a goo about the
consistency of hand cream. Then use the goo just like hand cream! Rub it
in, paying extra attention to the cuticles where that telltale grease just
loves to accumulate. Now hereıs Crustyıs real secret: turn the cake over
and dig your nails into it, firm enough to feel the soap lodging underneath.
Work that in and viola! Youıre ready to resume restoration without remorse,
as the soap blocks petroleum penetration and clean up will go a lot faster.
You can ditch that can of harsh, irritating cleanser--you wonıt need much
more than dish soap and a stiff brush to get those dirty digits kissing
clean! Bonus: a repaired relationship with your significant other, who
will experience a whole different feeling toward you and the endless hours
you spend in the garage, you old smoothie, you.

Medium tech solution: You can buy a tube if Invisible Glove (PEP Boys used
to carry it), but itıs the same stuff, costs more, and you canıt dig your
nails into it!

Yours for remorseless Roadstering,
Crusty
