List,
Jon Wissler has given a go ahead for this weekends Columbia Gorge
ride. I will be putting up a Columbia Gorge Page up on the Nowroc web
site
tonight with as much information as I can.

Here is the route as provided by Jon Wissler.

> Meet at Lewis and Clark State Park at 11:30 A.M. Sunday the 30th.
> (Take the I-84 L&C park exit just past the outlet mall in Troutdale).
>
> We'll head up the old highway which runs along the Sandy River
> up
> through Corbett and on to Crown Point. If the weather is fabulour AND
>
> clear, we can take a poll on whether to make a Larch Mountain assualt
> or
> not. That would add about an hour to the trip, but we could also get
> a
> beautiful view of Hood, Jefferson, Adams, Baker, St. Helens, and
> possibly
> Ranier on a clear day.
> From Crown Point, we continue on the old highway down towards
> Multnomah Falls. Along the way passing Horsetail Falls, Latourette
> Falls,
> Wahkena Falls, and I believe Oneonta Gorge. Horsetail Falls has a
> nice
> short hike that takes you underneath the lower falls that would be a
> fun
> stop.
> On down to Multnomah Falls, where we could stop and grab some
> eats
> and ice cream, and perhaps hike up to the bridge. At that point, we
> can
> call it a day, or if folks are truly desirous, head on up to
> Bonneville
> Dam and check out the huge fish at the hatchery. I haven't been there
> in
> a few years, but they used to have some HUGE sturgeon for viewing.
>
> The trip itself, minus the Bonneville and Larch Mountain leg, is
> probably
> only about 30 to 40 miles. We could cruise the whole thing in a
> couple
> hours, or take all afternoon. Please email me directly
> (jon_wissler@pngc.com) if you are planning on coming.
