Trying to install my Pertronix Ignitor, and have a few questions.
Has anyone run this with an MSD ignition? The instructions
say to run the red wire to the positive side of the coil. With the
MSD, there is no direct connection. The wire from the distributor
runs directly to the MSD ignition box. Do I just connect the red
wire to the white one leading to the ignition?
There is currently no negative wire from the distr. to the coil. Do I run
the black wire from the Pertronix unit directly to the negative side
of the coil?
It looks like the vacuum advance has a pin in it that goes into the plate
the points are mounted to. The hole in the Pertronix unit does not line up
with the vacuum advance pin. Is this still used?
Is there anyone going to Shasta with this setup? It would be nice to
eyeball the installation.
Any advise would be appreciated.
