Every miata I've been in feels like all four wheels go separate ways when
the car is cornered hard.  Roadsters feel solid as a rock.  Possibly I rode
in a bad miata and good roadsters.  I'm not sure if the roadster would
benefit from stiffening.  Miatas however...
