I just had my tank refurbished at a place in Fort Worth
called Metal rehabilitation. They advertise in
Hemmings. It is like new. You should have seen it
before. It was full of rust and smelly 30 year old
gas. There is what appears to be a patch on the front
of the tank. It is pop welded on like it came from the
factory that way. Is that so? One unfortunate thing
that happened during the refurbishing process is that
the baffle came loose. I guess the rust was all that
was holding it on. Now I'm going to have to cut the
tank to re-weld the baffle. Are there any other
suggestions or experiences that may help me? I also
have a very regular hollow knock that appears to be
coming from the #1 piston pin. Can I get the piston out
from the bottom or am I going to have to pull the head?
