These springs were built by BRE fabricator Mac Tilton (later of Tilton 
Engineering fame). A number of sets were built and some sets were made 
available to BRE's rivals.  Jack Scoville ran them during his successful 1969 
season - check out Jack's interview on the Register's website.

PS - Les - if a run of these were made, put me down for a set - although I 
dread to think what the shipping costs to England would be.

If you roll the fender lip and cut the "flange" on the frame rails around the 
wheel well area, you are afforded about another .75" of clearance for wider 
rubber too. Every little bit counts!
