I had the same problem with my car. I was reading the old Rallye
catalog insert, and it seems this problem has happened to alot of
2000's.Especially when in at high rpm's in the upper gears.
When the alternator was on the non exhaust side I don't
remember it happening. I am still running the stock ignition.
