 Hey , as a matter of fact the exact same thing happened to me in my 94 ford 
ranger  . During " Panic "  stops involving abs to kick on in trucks , the 
rear axle starts to hop and shake . After a few good stops , you will have to 
remove the rear axle and differential cover and replace the exciter ring . 
Its probably in peices under your ring and pinion !!!!........or unplug that 
stupid light on the dash !!!
