Hello All:
The wife and I went on a road trip to the Mississippi River this weekend
but left the roadster at home due to possible bad weather and the fact
that I still haven't figured out the electrical problems on the 2000. As
we were driving through a small town that was having their Octoberfest
parade, the wife pointed out a cool group of old American cars parked
off to the right. I took a quick look and looked back straight out the
window. Much to my surprise, a flat front delivery truck had crossed the
line right in front of me and was heading for my grill! I jerked the
wheel to the right and missed the guy by a few inches! Man o Man. The
rest of the weekend was spent pondering what could have been. My driving
was very intense for the remainder of the weekend. We returned home
Sunday afternoon without any problems.
Sunday night. 8:18pm. Sitting in the living room watching a high speed
chase on "COPS". I hear a metal on metal sound outside. I stand up and
look out the window. Here comes a black 95 chevy dual wheel truck
barreling down the street with a police car close behind. The guy tries
to make a left turn past my corner house(in the rain) and comes up on
the curb heading directly for the wife, dog, two cats and myself! The
only thing that saved us was that 15" diameter tree in my side yard. The
guy hit that tree right in the middle of the grill. The cop jumps out of
his car, gun in hand, and removes this guy from the truck and places him
on the ground. Turns out that he stole the truck Sunday morning.
Ofcourse he was drunk (3rd time) and screaming at the cops that "your
hurting me". If that Ass#$%^ had missed the tree he would have been in
my living room. Do bad things happen in three's?
