1500 grounding strap

Progress is being made on my head swap on my '64 1500. New head is in!

But, since I've been spending so much time in the engine bay I began to 
wonder why there is no grounding strap from the engine block to the 
frame. Should there be one?

The car is still positive ground, but the battery has been moved to the 
trunk by the PO. The battery is well grounded to the frame and beefy 
cables in conduit run from the starter back to the battery.
