Yes, Phil Baker is still definitely with us. He is building a new shop
behind his house which will be equipped with a big new lathe and
some very technical welding equipment. Actually now most of the
engine work is done by Phil's son Ray who is a certified aircraft
welder and a master machinist. Phil is getting on in years and
prefers to do transmission and smaller work and answer the phone.
Ray is a magician with engines ...don't tell him that I told you about
the aluminum V12 he made by cutting 2-215's apart and welding
the blocks back together. You should see the crankshaft... WOW!!
They are the folks who are helping me build my 305 cu.in buick for
my street rod.
They are both very pleasant, knowledgeable people who are a
pleasure to work with.
