Local staff car? I think the Alpine falls into the same category as, say,
the Celica in You Only Live Twice. Local car, not a special piece of
equipment.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Bond appears only to get to use a specially
supplied car, i.e. his AM, or more recently the BMWs, if he is operating
within the UK or Europe. I presume the costs and logistics of shipping a car
to places like the far east, North America etc. would make it impractical?

I always assumed it was a rental. He flew in to Jamaica(?). What was he
suppose
to do? Walk?
