I seem to remember an scene in Goldfinger where Q is introducing Bond to
his new piece of kit, the AM DB5(?). Anyway, Bond asks about the Bentley,
and Q advises that "the old girl has had its day", or words to that effect.
If fact, either in an opening scene of Goldfinger, or perhaps From Russia
with Love, Bond is seen carousing with a young lady on the banks of a river
and in the background is a vintage Bentley. I guess this was the producers
giving a nod to the car Bond drove in the books.

Yes, we're sure. Simon Templar drove the Hirondel. (Except once in Sicily
he
rented a Bugatti. A tipo 41, no less.)
