Stuart - have you tried Gunsons colourtune? It is a nifty device that
allows you to see the colour of the flame in the chamber and comes with
instructions to show how to adjust the jet to get the right colour (i.e.
mixture). It is a lot cheaper than gas analysers, and should more than
suffice for the home hobbyist. I believe both moss and VictoriaBritish have
them in their catalogues.
I have one and it works well, taking all the guess work out of the process.
