  After a quick inspection behind the rubber bumper I discovered two 
rectangular openings in the fenders just below and inboard of the 
headlights where I suspect the pre 74 turn lamps were mounted.  The 
only hitch is that the hole is three sided and is open on the bottom 
along a line where the lamp and the chrome bumper would meet.  Perhaps 
the tooling was not changed for the t/s holes on post 74.5 cars. I need 
to look at a pre 74 car to see if this is normal or if sheet metal 
completely surrounds the lamp on all four sides.  
  As for lowering the ride height I figured I'd bulk up over the winter
on a steady diet of jelly doughtnuts and cheese doodles.
