In the LBC way of thinking to get under our little cars,
I have come up with an other ramp/pit/lift. Picture the
side of a hill with a vert. wall built into the side of
the hill. About 20' from the wall, at the same hight, is
two say 6x6 posts set vert with a horz cross member joining
the tops of the posts. From the wall to the cross member
are (2) "I" beams, the width of the tyre track. Drive
out on the beams, which are turned to form a tyre guide.
Just do not drive off the end.

An other ramp type that I remember seeing was in an early
issue of "The Spokes", the monthly pub. of the MGCC here
in NY. George, do you remember this one. A set of drive on
ramps made from 2x6 and 3/4" plywood that worked like a
teeder totter. One end was blocked and you could work at
        one end of the other.
