Accusumps are still around. They come in several flavors (size, w/press.
gauge, w/manual valve, w/solenoid, etc.) and are sold by the likes of Summit,
Racer Wholesale and Truelove (?). They aren't exactly cheap, but they are
*much* less than a full dry-sump system.
The valves allow the operator to isolate the Accusump while the engine is
running (and the Accusump is full), so the next time the engine is started,
opening the valve before cranking will "pre-oil" the engine. Deciding whether
this presents an advantage will depend on the application.
