Both cars used the same drive line, so the Minor box will work, *BUT*:

Most Minors, and early Sprites used the "smooth case" gearbox, which was not 
as strong as the later "ribcase" box. Today, some parts for the smoothcase 
are very hard to come by, while you can get almost anything for a ribcase.

The one other point, is that *all* later Spridgets (61 and up, 9CG series and
up engines (Or all, period?) came with the factory "close ratio" box.
(Denoted by /Da in the Engine number). The Moggie box will have a wider 
spread in the gearing, which helps get going and uphill with the heavier 
car/small engine combo.
