Yes, back the bolt out, evenly spread on "anti-seize" compound, insert
finger tight, and then torque.

Incidentally, the head bolt nuts are very special and made for BMC
cars, DO NOT USE SUBSTITUTES!  Incidentally, a substitute nut or bolt
will probably give you different (substantially) torque readings.

If you use an extension, factor that into your torquing equation,
especially for a beam type wrench!
