Following the suggestion I read somewhere on the newcomer docs, here's my
introduction message.

I'm a relative newcomer to the British Car arena, having bought my first
SOL - a '66 Midget - about four years ago. The car has been loads of fun
and an incredible learning experience, too. Unfortunately, I'm in the
process of trying to sell it. There just isn't enough space to keep both
cars.

On the bright side, I'll still have my recent addition: a '73 Jensen-Healey
that promises to be a lot of fun. This car is in much better condition than
the Midget - in addition to have more space and being a bit speedier. This
one actually has decent paint, a new top, adjustable seats and other
features that had up until recently been considered quite frivolous. :)

Having been on the list for a week and a half now, it's nice to see that
there are other people interested in owning a half dozen British cars. Too
bad this state (WA) has such high licensing and insurance costs - not to
mention the parking problems of a city (Seattle).

I'd enjoy reading more from other Jensen-Healey owners - experiences and
car-specifics, like what to avoid or look out for.

For my part I can already add that an exhaust manifold (it's actually a bit
more than just the manifold as it extends beneath the car and ...) is
expensive to replace on a J-H. Not only is it pricey but it's quite a
labor-intensive process, too.

My current list of problems includes:

- slow brake fluid leak (vertically) between the master cylinder and
whatever the larger round item is behind it (not the reservoir -
  that's above the master cylinder).
- water on the driver's floor pan. Don't know, yet, whether it comes
  from above or below.
- nonfunctioning fuel guage and semi-functional tachometer.

Take care.
