No. the original Triumph V8 came with 3.0 litre. It's the Rover that had 3.5 
litre. So that's the one in your TR8.

my Stag has litte more than 100.000 miles (I own it since 2000 miles, engine 
was newly rebuilt) and the 4th engine.

This give's you an average "milage" of about 35.000 miles/engine. But maybe the 
life on the German Autobahn is a little bit harder than elsewhere.
