I agree... Emotional arguments/rebuttals are just too negative.
The parties should keep them offline.

Charlie is a bright guy and good at getting HP on his dyno.
His time is expensive, but a number of local racers use him because
he can tune what gets put on his dyno.  Most of his work is with
more sophisticated OHC machines, especially japanese cars and alfas.
If you have a Jensen Healey with webers and adjustable cam sprockets...
take it to someone like Charlie for some dyno time.  If you want
valves adjusted, don't pay someone dyno rates to do it.

Charlie seems to take a lot of pride in his accomplishments, and yes...
it feeds his ego some.  So, we his services get slammed, he doesn't
just feel that it's bad for his business, he takes it personally.
Unforunately, his response resorted to some defensive rationalization
and personal barbs (dynoing in the USA for an old british car... valves
to be be adjusted cold... buy a toyota).  

Bottom line: dyno time is probably not appropriate for most people,
but expectations run high because the cost is high.
