I have just gone out and bought seal sealer for sealing a newly welded floor
pan on the Sprite. Why is it necessary? If I just hammerite the seams twice
will that not suffice. Will someone please tell me the advantage of the
sealer.

The Buick/Rover V8 is sorta the Chevy 350 of England. It's common over
there, and there are performance parts available both in the US and UK. It
was fitted in several production cars, race cars, and many specials. I want
one. In something.

TR7 V8 conversions are available from Rimmer Brothers in England, and
others. British Parts Direct in CA. lists kits for the TR7 and MGB, but
the word is not to buy anything from them. Brit-Tek, the MGB specialists,
are now listing some conversion parts. I'm still looking for a complete UK
based MGB source. (Besides the engine, radiator, engine mounts, manifolds,
etc, you also need to think about tranny, rear end, suspension, brakes)

There were 2-4 Warwick GT's ('60-62 successor to the Peerless GT) fitted
with the Buick version as a possible production project, but Warwick folded
shortly afterwards. There is one known existing V8 Warwick, nearing
completion of restoration in Virginia. If I didn't have the original TR3A
engine in my Peerless project, I'd consider a V8...

There's a couple extensive files on the SOL archive servers about the V8,
which gets a lot of discussion on the TR8 list. If anyone can help me fill
in more details in these specs, please send me direct.
