It's true!! it's true!! 
The GT6+ had an alternator as did the MKIII.  However the poor old MKI had
the dreaded generator.  I have encountered a few early GT6+'s with
genorators, probably using up left over stock before making the transition to
the alternators.  All of my MKI's have had P.O. alternators put on them so I
have not tried fitting the GT6+ alternators to a MKI but I suspect it would
be simple to do.

Speaking of Alternators, anyone know of a source for the Lucas alternator
conversion kits for the early TR's I have a TR4A that loves to eat
generators, probably due to the driving lights and high power stereo system.
