After all this talk of TVRs, someone mentioned that they are
alive and well producing Tuscans, this is true and the Blackpool
based company are doing very nicely out of it. What you may
not have heard about (in the USA), is the new TVR Griffith.
This is a brand new car that has just gone on sale (if you can
find one!). It has a beautifully curved shape with leather,
walnut, etc, etc. All of which are made to a much higher standard
than most of TVRs previous cars. The review I read was full of
superlatives for the shape alone, when it was started up the
reviewer said,
"You push the starter button and you instantly know your driving
a TVR. The noise is deafening, it will shake the plates off
you're neighbours' sideboard, but if you're worried about that
you shouldn't be driving a TVR."
The engine is (yes you've guessed it), the Rover V8 with their own
little modifications. I don't remember the exact output but it was
around the 300bhp mark.

The reviewer also talked about TVR taking on the likes of Porche(sp?)
and Lotus so maybe they will start re-importing into USA in the
next few years.
If I had a spare L27000 (cheap), I would buy one of these cars.
(but how would I break the news to my Insurance man :-)
