The Moke's speedo cable "bounces" too - most noticeably at around 100 kph (max.
speed in Victoria, but not the Moke's top :-) I had to replace the cable soon
after I bought it, and had to use a longer Mini Clubman one (slightly modified
as the "core" extended a bit far at the speedo end). Still bounces, so I
generally use the highest value at the speed limit, or average the reading.
