If the door does not go all the way up, the assist cylinder could be
going bad. Since the driver's side is used more, that cylinder tends to
wear out faster. When adjusting the air causes one door to go up fast,
but not the other, it indicates the one assist cylinder is worn. You
can swap the driver and passenger sides to even up the wear. Clean and
grease them when reinstalling.
The other indicator to look for is gauling of the assist cylinder's ball
joint, due to wear from age or inadequate grease. If you can see metal
flakes or streaks being transferred from the ball to socket, it
indicates the ball is wearing out and could potentially pop out of the
socket unexpectedly, with very bad consequences.
