In the 15 or 20 years of makeing and installing exhaust systems I have 
usually found that 2.5 pipes on an engine that small if it is stock , often 
makes it perform worse in genneral. You loose the scavange effect. 2.25 is 
more than enough. I am sure if you spoke to the performance cam or header 
people they would tell you somthing similar. exhaust is one thing like carbs 
were bigger is not better all the time.
