My electrical problem turned out to be a bad voltage regulator allowing power
to be supplied to the field of the alternator when the ignition was off. I
thought you might want to know in case that helps anyone in the future.
Thanks for all the troubleshooting tips. I put an ammeter on the battery
cable and started disconnecting wires and pulling fuses until the current
draw stopped.
