Marvin,

210 is nothing to worry about. That's the temperature mine normally runs as 
well. It will climb into the 220s stopped in traffic on a hot day. As long as 
it doesn't get above 230 or so, it will be fine.

The heater valve is normally open. You'll get hot water in the heater core 
unless vacuum is applied to the valve.
