i am just beginning to put a fiberglass body on my car and i don't know
much but i do know that the door skins are put on with an adhesive. i
would think that the fix for you would be to prop the skin away from the
metal frame far enough to do some cleanup and then reapply the adhesive
to the area. the skin can then be clamped to the metal frame until the
adhesive cures.

when some of the old timers respond and tell you what the adhesive is, i
will also write it down because i don't know what it is. 3m makes a
marine product called 3m 5200. i don't know if there is anything much
stronger and it maintains enough flexibility to take the
expansion/contraction cycles as well as the vibration. i called 3m once
when i got it someplace that it shouldn't have been and asked what i
could do to get it off. they replied "nothing".
