John,
   I just replaced mine also.
I found the largest starter wire that I could find with the correct ends
(minus the 90 degree bend) at the local auto shop. The wire was not nearly as
big as the stock one but I am sure that it will work well - they sell them for
every other car/truck like that. I made the bend myself (so that it will not
touch the fender wall). Then I covered the wire with exhaust heat shield wrap
(due to the fact that it has to run so close to exhaust....and from the looks of
the old one, that would be a problem).
This setup seems to work very well for me. Granted, it is a little bit
rigged, but it works.
T-5 Update: The 727 has been removed, the T-5 has been attached to the motor
and I am currently working on making the trans mount, getting the new drive
shaft made, and buying a high pressure flex line (to run from the clutch master
cylinder to the slave cylinder). I may have to do some welding on the
crossmember (ouch), but I will try to avoid that at all costs.
I only get to work on the car 1 day per week (at most) so it is a little slow
but it is getting there....

                                                                Jamie

Has anyone looked for a starter cable? The one that goes between the
starter solenoid and the starter.

I have a cable, that I think is this cable. It is over 1/2" in dia. about
a foot long and has something like an asbestos covering.

I'm looking for an aftermarket source.

John
