Well gang, with the help of my wife and #2 son (ScottE) I got the trunk floor
out from under the body. All that remains are the 2 quarter panels and
the rear panel. The glue on the quarters is let go all the way up to
about the roof seam. I've had a discussion with George Malaska about this,
and his advice was to cut the quarter panels at the seams to remove them,
as I do NOT want to take the roof off. It was just put on (5 yrs ago) by
Terry. In addition, I'd like to remove the rear panel so I don't have to
try and store the entire rear clip as a unit.

So I have 2 questions.

1. Anybody successfully removed the rear panel? If so how did you do it.
I can't get into the seam from the inside as there isn't enough room
between the rear panel and the end of the fender. The seams around
the rear panel are filled with seam sealer and it seems pretty tough.
I've tried (not very hard) to try and dig it out.

2. Anybody removed the quarters without removing the top? Do you agree
with George. My feeling on this was to cut the quarter panel about an
inch or so outboard of the seam to leave it intact. I'm affraid that by
cutting into the seam and then trying to repair it, I will loose the
    seam. Any thoughts?

You all have a good day.

John
