FYI: This came from the KAM webpage for their air powered 4WD
differential and from some specs on the Hummer.

-----------------
"The air operated locking diff incorporates a 12V 'Thomas' compressor pump
as used on the Range Rover LSE air suspension. Pressure from the pump
actuates a selector fork (which passes through the axle casing) via a
pneumatic cylinder, thereby moving a dog tube (which is splined to the half
shaft) to engage with the differential carrier. The compressor is switched
on and off by a pressure regulator via a 30 amp relay. The system also
features a manual override."

----------------
"A 12VDC, 1/3 HP air compressor by Thomas lies at the heart of the Hummer's
OEM central tire inflation system."
-----------

If its good enough for a Range Rover's air suspension system and a Hummer
its
probably good enough for Bricklin air doors.
