It is easy to see why people would confuse the front ends-GM used the
spring on the lower control arm, Mopar used torsion bar, AMC was a unibody
car and used the shock tower with the spring on the upper control arm.
Mustang was also unibody, so used the same setup, though I think the strut
rod was forward of the control arm, while AMC/Bricklin was rearward.

It was mentioned the Bricklin is the same as the 70-77 Hornet. Well, the
70-78 Gremlin, 78-85 Concord, and 79-83 Spirit were also the same, and the
70-74 AMX and Javelin used the same suspension, just different crossmembers
and center links and sway bars. (Javelin and AMX were wider cars, but 68-9
suspensions were entirely different).

A member of the AMX club sent his car to a company that is going to make
poly bushings for the whole front end. This is currently being developed.
Will let you know when available.
