I successfully extracted my stuck spring today.=A0=A0=A0 I had one last dit=
ch attempt before yanking the motor from the car:=A0 that was to loosen all=
the bell-housing bolts, and then see if I could pry the bellhousing and bl=
ock apart enough to release the bound up spring.=A0=A0 To make a long story=
short, it worked.=A0=A0 I had to back turn the motor to line things up so =
the spring could be fished out of the starter hole- but we got it.=A0=A0 Be=
llhousing is buttoned back up.=A0=A0 Wow, there are a couple of VERY tricky=
bolts to access ;-) =A0 =A0 In theory, all I need to do now is repair/repl=
ace the starter=A0 - not sure which yet - bolt it in, and I should be rolli=
ng again.=0A=0AI'd still like to put a 5-speed in the car, and one day, pro=
bably will.=A0 But the immediate urgency is gone.=A0 I might start shopping=
options though.=A0 At some point, I will have to remove this drivetrain ju=
st to do the clutch.=0A=0AThanks for all the ideas and suggestions guys-=0A=
