MINI hasn't told anyone whether the John Cooper Works version will be
modified at Cooper's facility, the port, or dealers. This has a lot of
bearing on whether it will be Stock legal.
To respond to the HS question, the class was won by a 318i, with Coopers in
2nd, 3rd, 4th, and a Civic in 5th. All within 0.7. So, the car seems to be
squarely in HS territory. 12 out of 35 cars in the class were Coopers.
