C'Mon, I find it hard to believe that Dealers are looking on the various
websites for the very small percentage of their customers that would be
autocrossing a Subaru. Also, I don't believe that a dealer has the
authority to cancel a manufacturer's warranty. They may not have to
honor it. Only the manufacturer can void the warranty.
How can a dealer assume that a competitor is autocrossing the very same
car that is under warranty or even if the car is actually his own. The
website results do not list the VIN or license plate numbers, nor does
it list the registered and/or legal owners of the vehicle so how can a
dealer determine anything at all based on the little information on a
website. Also, how can a Dealer based any determination on who are their
customers or the cars they sold to an autocrosser based on the little
information on the website. The competitor can always say he was
co-driving somebody else's car.
I vote for no, do not allow the competitor to change or hide any
competitor's information on the website. This gotta be a bunk rumor
started somewhere. Next Farmer's or any other large Insurance Carrier
will be checking all the websites throughout the country looking for
their insureds to see if they are autocrossing or not, Yah right.
