All systems are on track for this weekend, Golden Gate Fields, Albany, CA,
has our insurance certificate and our rental fees. And we have our City of
Albany temp biz license.
Enter the site on Gilman St. Go to parking lot attendant behind the
grandstand and tell him you're with the sports car group. Thus he won't
charge you the $2 parking fee and will direct you around the car counting
device in the middle of the roadway. We are on the North lot. SCCA members
only. If you're not a member now, you can pick up an application for next
time, which is the following Sunday, April 29.
Tomorrow, Friday, the motorized sweeper will cover the entire lot to remove
what stuff the horseplayers left behind.
Our Food Coach lady, Kim, is due to arrive about 9:30 a.m.
The Porta Potties (2) are scheduled to arrive Friday p.m. Please
don't dump garbage in the porta potties, they're for sanitary purposes
only. If you can keep 'em clean maybe we can arrange for college credit in
Public Health.
As usual for GGF, there will be no P.A. system.
We start at 10 a.m. because of the horse training sessions on the
horse track and they don't want cars moving about on the lot for fear it
will "spook" one of the high-strung race horses.
Sound level: 95 dbA at 100 ft. will be strictly enforced for the
same reason no P.A. is allowed. (i.e. keep Albany's citizen's happy. Even
with the Freeway noise it's claimed people living on the other side can
hear us.)
We must stay off the roadway around the perimeter of the paddock
area so GGF employees can move their equipment. It's marked with a yellow
line. I'm looking foward to another fun event on the edge of San Francisco
Bay. The weather man--and Katie Kelly, too--figure the sun will shine all
day.
