Small world - I drove my first autocross in 1965(called a slalom, not SCCA)
while a freshman college student in San Diego with a '58 Volvo 444. Got a
997 Mini Cooper in '66 with which I had more success. Got away from it
after college until '76-'79 in a Fiat X1/9 in NCSCC, then joined SCCA in
1986 and ran a VW GTI. Started road racing in '88, but haven't stopped
autocross since.
