Just for the sake of argument/education:

So why do so few (if any?) of the major car manufacturers install them then?
How many real race venues allow or use them?

Yes but, less mass to sink that heat away from the pads in the first place.
So, you're leaving more of that bad heat in the pads, which can boil the
fluid and cause brake fade.

Let the educational debate begin.  ;^)
