You ahould be able to get a set of Bilsteins for $50 each. Have had them on
my Blazer for a few years, can't beat them, if they are still available at
that price.

Actually, a shock question for tow vehicles. Anyone have good/bad
experience with shocks for 3/4 or 1-ton trucks? My '92 Dodge 3/4-ton
diesel 4X4 X-cab pickup is approaching 180K miles, and the OEM shocks are
probably even less optimal than they were when they were actually
working. This truck has a pretty firm ride, but I suspect that good shocks
could help with that at least a little. I am not looking at Konis (custom
valved or not), and I suspect that I'd be fairly happy with something
pretty cheap, like what I can get at Sears or AutoZone. But I would be
interested in things to avoid or something to look for. TIA.
