I'm contemplating getting 15x8" Kosei K1s(32mm offset, ~$180, 15.2 lbs.) to
use with either 225/50 Kumhos and/or 225/45 Hoosiers. On my '96 I had to
roll the fenders a bit to get 15x7" 35mm offset wheels to fit with the
225/50 Kumhos. Clearance in the rear was tight on both sides of the tire.
In the front I had to bend the tabs that hold the splash shield in place. I
intend to roll the fenders even more, but even then I am not sure that the
15x8s will fit with such wide rubber. If they don't fit the '96 I may try
them on my '99, which has much more clearance. As a point of reference,
panasport makes 16x8" wheels for the >'99 that they say absolutely will not
fit an earlier car.
