Driver training/ gory movies

I always wondered what those movies were about. I
suppose they were to scare the kids away from driving.
Didn't work once in fifty years AFAIK.
I think a couple of autocross entries would have been
a better investment, but then the teacher's union
wouldn't get a cut so that ain't gooa happen....
